White men are leaving campuses worldwide

September 19, 2021 by Michael Brig

I stumbled across an article yesterday that looked at international numbers for college enrolment (source). And it seems like men – especially white men – are dropping out.

By the end of the 2020-21 academic year, women constituted 60% of college students across American campuses, while men made up just 40%, according to the National Student Clearinghouse research group.

Compared to 2016, there are also 1.5 million fewer students in America’s higher education system and, yep, you guessed it, men account for 71% of the decline.

This trend is not exclusive for the western world. In Malaysia, Panama, Argentina, Sri Lanka,… men are dropping out while female student numbers are still rising.

However, we can already see an effect of modern culture on white women as well, as their numbers are almost stagnating in the US while numbers for women of all other ethnicities are on the rise.

Women’s attendance has also skyrocketed across every ethnicity. The percentage of black women has increased by 19.9%, asian women 39%, white women 1.0%, mixed-race women 39.6% and ‘other’ BAME women are up a whopping 65.6%.

I already wrote a more detailed guide on deciding if you should go to college or not: Should you go to college or not?

Many men (and some women) are understanding that the times are changing. The economy is being transformed by the age of the internet. You don’t need a degree to work online. You don’t have huge startup costs to build your own business online. You don’t need a centralized educational system to teach you how to make money online.

Additionally, the political system has now weaponized public education. Campuses in the west have become hostile to men, especially white men – white women might be next on the list.

Finally, college degrees have become less valuable even in the traditional economy. Companies have already started to train their own IT-specialists – no college degree necessary to apply.

I am a white man. I went to college. I wish I had never done so.

Looking at the way the world has changed over the last decade, I can only assume how horrible college campuses must be for white men today. As the return of going there has been lowered massively, the incentives to go are fading.

If we factor in the economic trends, could it be that the overtake of college by wokism is a blessing in disguise for white men?

Being forced to find a career in traits, self-employment, and entrepreneurship will prepare young men of the west way better for the things to come than the traditional public education system and its political indoctrination ever could.

I don’t see the article as a reason to complain. It is a reason to celebrate.
